Rats and mice from £200, squirrels from £240, foxes from £250, and fleas, bed bugs, cockroaches, moles and rats in drains from £150. These are “from” prices: the final price depends on the job, and we'll explain the likely cost before we start.

What Affects The Price
We'd rather tell you the real price than a misleading 'from £49'. These are the four things that make the difference, and we'll go through each one when you call.
The pest and how established it is
A single wasp nest is one visit; an established rat problem needs bait stations, follow-ups and often proofing.
The size and type of property
A flat, a detached house with outbuildings and a restaurant kitchen need very different amounts of time and product.
How many visits it needs
Rats and mice usually need two or three visits; bed bugs and cockroaches often need more than one treatment.
Proofing and repairs
Sealing the gaps pests get in through is quoted separately, so you only pay for what your property needs.
Council Or Private?
Every council below was checked on its own website (dates shown). Many no longer treat pests at all, and most that do only treat rats and mice. Urgent Pest Control covers every pest, usually sooner.
Nottinghamshire
Nottingham City, Rushcliffe and Ashfield councils still run their own paid pest control services, and Ashfield says its service also covers Mansfield residents. Broxtowe, Newark and Sherwood and Bassetlaw do not treat pests, so residents there need a private pest controller (Broxtowe offers residents on benefits up to £50 cash-back on a rat or mouse treatment).

Derbyshire
Derby City, Amber Valley, North East Derbyshire and Bolsover councils still treat pests for residents, and Bolsover treats rats and mice free of charge. Erewash, South Derbyshire and Derbyshire Dales do not offer a treatment service and point residents to private pest controllers.

Lincolnshire
None of the Lincolnshire councils we checked (City of Lincoln, North Kesteven, South Kesteven and West Lindsey) runs a pest treatment service, so residents need a private pest controller. These councils can still investigate rat and mouse problems that affect neighbouring properties or public health.
